Enabling collaboration for healthcare education
MedBiquitous Europe

MedBiquitous Europe

MedBiquitous and St. George's University of London are pleased to announce the formation of MedBiquitous Europe, a collaboration to promote the adoption and implementation of MedBiquitous technical standards and specifications for healthcare education within Europe.

The objectives for MedBiquitous Europe are to:

  1. Provide a European point-of-contact for all activities relating to adoption and implementation of MedBiquitous technology standards for medical and healthcare education.
  2. Provide support and guidance for European institutions looking to adopt standards as part of any European Commission initiatives.
  3. Promote European input to and participate in the development of MedBiquitous technology standards for healthcare education and competence assessment.

The immediate priority of MedBiquitous Europe will be to inform and guide standards implementation in the European Commission-supported Electronic Virtual Patients (eViP) Programme, which is establishing a shared bank of multilingual, multicultural virtual patients for reuse and repurposing. The eViP Programme leverages the emerging MedBiquitous Virtual Patient standard for the exchange of virtual patient cases.
