Leveraging Web 2.0 within a University Setting

The rise in networked social applications commonly referred to as Web2.0 undeniably offers the potential to impact significantly on current learning, teaching and management practices. But are current institutional processes ready willing and able to embrace such developments in spirit and in full? Michael Begg describes the implementation of web 2.0 applications within the University of Edinburgh’s College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and unpacks some of the local, institutional and cultural issues that surround institutional uptake, local adoption and web 2.0 itself.
