Annual Conference, April 9-10, 2003
Consortium members, please join us for the MedBiquitous Annual Conference April 9 and 10, 2003 at The World Trade Center, Baltimore, Maryland. The conference will focus on how medical education is changing and the potential for standards-based technology to support and accelerate those changes. April 9 includes an update on consortium activities, relevant lessons and innovations from other industries, effective e-learning, and physician portals. April 10 provides technical presentations for IT staff planning to implement XML and Web services for greater efficiencies within their organization. Attendance is recommended for both organization and technology leaders.
Participation is open to members only. The conference starts at 10:00 AM on April 9 and ends at 2:45 PM on April 10. Special rates are available at the Hyatt hotel in Baltimore. Check our website for more information on the event. For reservations, contact Jody Poet at jpoet@medbiq.org.

Tracking Education and Certification Activities
Is
your organization interested in tracking physician activities related
to education or maintenance of certification? On March 11, the MedBiquitous
Education Working Group is convening in Chicago to design technology
standards that would facilitate activity tracking. These standards
would enable an educational provider to send course completion information
to a certifying board, academy, or licensing organization, thereby
reducing the time and resources required to exchange this information.
The working group will also begin designing technology standards for
representing medical curricula against which a physician’s activity
may be tracked. These standards are an important part of the overall
technology blueprint for medical education that MedBiquitous is developing.
If you are interested in participating, please contact info@medbiq.org.

Tell Us Your Priorities
MedBiquitous is defining an array of technology standards that support education, maintenance of competence, and other professional communication needs. We must ensure that we are working on the highest priority technology needs for your organization. Each member organization will receive shortly a survey to gather feedback on how we can best serve you. Please take a few minutes to respond to this survey to ensure that our goals are well aligned with yours. Individual responses will be confidential; aggregate results of the survey will be provided to MedBiquitous members and presented at the annual meeting in April.
