Past Initiatives
MedBiquitous® initiatives reflect the evolving needs and insights of the health professions education community. This page highlights previous initiatives that have shaped our standards efforts, community engagement, and strategic priorities over time. As programming, working groups, and collaborative projects transition from active development to legacy impact, we will continue to document and share their contributions here to preserve learnings and inform future work.
Community Action Planning (CAP) Working Groups
In October 2020, the MedBiquitous program sponsored the Community Action Planning for Educational Technology Interoperability (CAPETIHP) workshop in collaboration with WGEA CRIME to discuss with community members the challenges found at the intersection of conventional instructional methods, teaching in clinical settings, and accreditation requirements. These common challenges appear while finding effective combinations of tools and systems to manage health professions education (HPE) programs, efficiently centralizing data across systems, and successfully transferring information with other schools and credentialing bodies. Our community members wanted to explore how to address these challenges and increase standard practices for interoperability.
Health Professions Education Curriculum Exchange (HPECE) Working Group
MedBiquitous has set a goal to better educate the community on the importance of harmonizing standards across industries and acknowledge their impact on health professions education (HPE). The MedBiquitous 2030 initiative envisions a future where community-driven, standards-based solutions, such as a Health Professions Education Curriculum Exchange (HPECE), can support medical and health professions education and credentialing. Despite content and peer-to-peer marketplaces, the idea of an open health sciences curriculum content exchange is novel.
